 The GM's are aware of some outstanding issues and our developers are currently working hard to resolve them.
 
As of 5:15 am PST, the bug causing the pet Nerissa's "Bubble Tornado" to distribute only a 1x use of the skill (for both Cash and GP) was patched. Affected users will receive the remaining quantity of skills purchased later today, 11/18/2009 PST. To those who haven't purchased the pet skill but intend to, PLEASE REPATCH!
 
The following bugs are currently being investigation:
 
1. A bug with Ryan's "Nature's Shield" which causes him to remain invincible until the skill is cast again.
 
2. A bug with the right-click function on GC Messenger that is preventing users from deleting/moving their buddies.
 
3. A space that's appeared at the bottom of the World Chat window.

We'd like to thank all of the players that have helped report the listed bugs. We really appreciate your help. We ask that any other bugs that may be found be reported via the 1:1's so that our team can track and respond to any issues as soon as possible.

Greetings, Knights!
 
It has been brought to our attention that some of you may be experiencing some difficulties with the new mission to acquire Sieghart.  Specifically, that some players who have registered the Sieghart mission will freeze when they subsequently open their mission log.
 
We understand the frustration inherent in this issue, because not only does it prevent you from turning in quests, but also by extension it keeps you from unlocking and leveling up Sieghart!  The problem is caused by a glitch in the patcher, which is preventing some players from receiving the complete patch.  As a result, any content which is new as of this patch may not function properly.  This includes the Sieghart mission, dungeons (due to the witch), and rooms which utilize the "trick or treat" bonus.
 
Fortunately, both Ntreev USA and KOG Studios are hard at work to correct the issue and prevent it from occurring in the future, but in the meantime we would like to reassure everyone afflicted with this bug that it is temporary and it will resolve itself over time.  Eventually, your patcher will download the latest version and these issues will be resolved.  If you are still experiencing technical difficulties related to the patch after 5:00 PM PDT, please send us a 1:1 support request along with any symptoms you're experiencing.

Attention Knights,
 
The Halloween spirits have addressed an issue with the Creepy Pumpkin Roll! board game where Trick-or-Treaters who did not remain logged on for the entire 5 hours found their boards reset the next time they logged onto Grand Chase.
 
But never fear!
 
The spirits of Halloween have very good memories so they've put everyone's pieces back on the board where they should be! In addition, Seal Breaker Scrolls and GC Club for completed laps will be retroactively awarded.
 
And to show our Knights that the spirits are really about treating everyone who wishes to join in on the party, any Knight who had logged onto Grand Chase since maintenance on October 21 and before maintenance on October 27 will find 2 extra rolls of the dice in their inventories when they next log in after tonight's patch!
 
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please have a fun and safe Halloween, and be sure not to accept candy from any dubious characters...like Moshup.

Keep an eye on the forums and website into the future for announcements of the next Seal Breaker Gacha set, and in the meantime if you're interested in what we have now, this is the time to stock up on gems and the scrolls to break them!

Again, when 10/27/2009's maintenance starts, Seal Breaker Scrolls and  Sealed Gems will no longer drop in-game! Get 'em while you can!

It's been brought to Knight Master's attention that some of our little worker Goblins had mishandled items in the Shop and our loyal Knights have had to pay the price! The Tengu Ears and Tails, which are permanent items that can only be purchased with cash points, have been mistakenly distributed as timed items.
 

But never fear.
The Goblins have been properly reprimanded, and this oversight has been recorded onto their permanent personnel files! And the Knights who had purchased these items in the past will get them permanently during maintenance on October 13, 2009, 9:00 PM PDT. This applies to all purchases of the Tengu Ears and/or Tails made since Grand Chase's launch!

The "Chase the Ace" has just finished, and it was a great success. We were very happy that 276 unique competitors were able to enter--a record for us!--and 1073 qualifier matches were played (not counting matches that weren't recorded due to technical glitches!). However, conspicuously absent from the top of the roster was Jin! So to raise awareness of the Fighter (and Shisa too), we're hosting a Jin-only tournament!


Key Details

Who: 144 participants who enter qualifier matches. Anyone with Jin unlocked may participate in the qualifiers, but each player may enter ONLY ONE qualifier room. ENTERING MULTIPLE QUALIFIER ROOMS IS GROUNDS FOR ACCOUNT ACTION.
What: Single-elimination unseeded survival tournament, entered by winning qualifier matches.
When: Thursday, October 1st from 5:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM PDT.
Where: Gardosen Server, Free Class PvP, in rooms specifically created and supervised by the GM staff.
Why: To give Jin the recognition he deserves as a fighter and engage in combat on difficult terrain.

Qualifiers:

Qualifying for entry into the Playoffs will be accomplished by placing in the top 3 players of a qualifier room. Similar to the Hells Bells tournament, rather than hold registration for entry we are going to allow anyone interested to enter a qualifier room and compete.

Playoffs:

Rooms in the playoffs will be created and identified by the GMs, with competitors being invited directly by the GMs. Competitors who have qualified will be told where to wait for an invite, so for this reason, it is MANDATORY that all competitors are able to accept room invites by ensuring that their "Auto Invite Block" option is UNCHECKED.

In the Final round, the top two players from each side of the bracket will be paired together as a team to fight in a 2v2 against the other side for the championship.

Tomorrow we'll kick off an explosive new tournament, so there are a few announcements we have to make about how this will affect you whether you plan on entering or not.

First off, the GARDOSEN server will not be available for normal play this week!  Do not panic if you see the error message "Failed to create a new room." on Gardosen, as this is intended.

In order to facilitate the smooth operation of our new qualifier format, we have modified the Gardosen server into a temporary tournament server.  It will be restored to normal operation with the patch on September 29th. 

During this week, the following changes will be in affect:

*Dungeon mode will be disabled.
*Chatting will be disabled in the PvP lobby.
*Whispers will be disabled to Game Masters.
*Room creation will be disabled.

By making these changes, this will ensure that there is no spam in the lobby so that important tournament updates may be heard by all (GM chat is *not* disabled, so you can see what we type). This will also allow us to have only Game Masters create the rooms, so that you can be sure that *any* room you see is a sanctioned qualifier room. Finally, we hope that by preventing the creation of dungeon rooms or PvP rooms by players and by restricting chat, we can mitigate the effects of lag on the tournament.

As a reminder, this tournament is open to EVERYONE.  Game Masters will be hosting qualifier rooms on Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM PDT to 8:00 PM PDT.  All you have to do to participate is try to join one of these rooms!  Fight the room's King, and if you win, you'll become the new King! 

You earn points for every win and lose points for every defeat.  The top 24 players in terms of points at the end of qualifier play on Thursday will come back Friday for the Playoffs.  As an added bonus, the player who is King in each Game Master's room at the end of qualifier play on Thursday will win an iPod, so do your best to stay on top of the throne close to the end of the day!

It's hard to believe that nine tournaments have come and gone, and that we are now preparing for our tenth. Equally auspicious is the date of this posting, exactly one year after we kicked off our first tournament. Fight For Honor began on September 11th, 2008, and its conclusion saw BT crowned champion. Credit is due also to runners-up Zero, Blandy and Dracox.
 

Here at Ntreev USA we are extremely proud of our competitive community, and consider the tournaments to be the pinnacle of the art of war. The competition is fierce, and in honor of our first tournament's anniversary, we have been working hard to present a format which will encourage maximum participation from all comers. We are pleased to present to you the "Chase the Ace" tournament.


Key Details

Who: 24 finalists selected by dominance from the qualifiers. Anyone who thinks they have what it takes to be King of the Hill may participate in the qualifiers.
What: Single-elimination seeded King of the Hill tournament, entered by 8 hours of qualifier matches.

Qualifiers:

Qualifying for entry into the Playoffs will be accomplished by winning as much as possible during the eight combined hours that qualifier rooms will be open. Similar to the Hells Bells tournament, rather than hold registration for entry we are going to allow anyone interested to enter a qualifier room and compete. Unlike the Hells Bells tournament, you are welcome to play in as many rooms as you can get into, because it's your overall record that will determine who makes it into the Playoffs.
 
Beginning at 4:00 PM PDT on Wednesday, September 16th, each Game Master will create a room on the Gardosen server's Free Class PvP channel. These will be the only rooms created on Gardosen at the time, to make them easier to identify. The goal is for players to enter any one of the rooms and fight. When the rooms are created, the first player who enters will by default be considered the "King of the Hill", or King of that room, and the second player who enters will be the challenger. The same rooms will be re-used for the duration of the qualifiers. When a match is over, the winner stays in the room and is crowned King, the loser leaves for a new Challenger to enter. The King may keep fighting in the room until they lose, racking up more points for each win. The loser is welcome to try again by entering a different tournament room. But be warned, there are only so many rooms available and many players will be expected to be interested, so do your best not to lose your seat!
 
For each win, the winner will receive points based on the strength of the opponent they faced, as well as how many lives they had remaining at the end of the match. In turn, the loser will lose the same number of points won by the winner, so in essence, the loser has given their points to the winner. Since the games have a time limit of 7 minutes, 30 seconds, the server will activate "Fast Match" mode after 5 minutes to encourage match completion. Scoring will be based on the actual number of lives remaining at the end of a match, so a player seeking the most points is advised to end the game before the 5-minute mark. If a room reaches the time limit of 7 minutes, 30 seconds, the game will end in a tie. The challenger by default will be removed from the room, but the player with less points will actually gain points in the event of a tie because it is expected that the player with more points will win, not tie. Please see the "[POINTS]" post for more details on scoring.
 
At the end of the qualifiers at 8:00 PM PDT on Thursday, September 17th, the King of the Hill in each room will win an iPod. After that, the final scores will be posted, determining the roster and seeding of the final 24 competitors who will move on to fight in the Playoffs on Friday.
 

Playoffs:

The Playoffs will be a true King of the Hill competition, where the winner stays and the loser leaves, all the way up to the Finals. The very last qualifier, in the #24 seed, will play the #23 seed in a single-elimination 1v1. The winner will go on to play the #22 seed. The winner of that match will go on to play the #21 seed, so on and so forth until the winner of the match against the #1 seed is crowned champion. As specified in the rules, there is a 10 minute time limit in these matches until the final three. If that time limit is reached, both competitors will drop and the next two seeds will compete and move on. To help keep games on track, "Fast Match" will be activated after 5 minutes in each match as in the Qualifiers.
 

The final three matches will be played as all the others, with the exception that there will be no time limit. This will ensure that a defined first, second and third place may be identified for the purpose of awarding prizes.

Notes: Players may only receive one "physical" prize, and therefore will receive the highest physical prize they qualify for (E.g. The player who wins 2nd Place in the tournament also was King of the Hill in their qualifier room at the end of the qualifiers. They would get the game console, and the second-most-recent King from that room would get the iPod). Armor Sets will be given for the most recent character played in the tournament.

It has been brought to our attention that the Gacha Coin Exchange Tickets found in Seal Breaker Gacha gems will at times not function as intended (When you press "OK," they do not disappear from inventory). Fortunately, this is a random occurrence and will not affect most attempts to convert a Ticket. However, to ensure that you are being properly credited for redeeming your Gacha Coin Exchange Tickets, please take the following precautions:
 
1. Before clicking on "OK", check your current Gacha Coin count under the Shop tab. Take a screen shot if possible.
 
2. Click "OK" on your Gacha Coin Exchange Ticket.
 
    a. If you see a message showing you how many Gacha Coins you got, see #3.
 
    b. If you click on "OK" and nothing happens, see #4.
 
3. Go back to Shop and confirm that your Gacha Coin count was properly credited.
 
4. Try switching servers. Go back and see if your Ticket is still in your inventory. If not, check your Gacha Coin count. You should have gotten credit for the number of Tickets you had in your inventory. If possible, take a screen shot of your Gacha Coin count just in case!
 
If you encounter any other problems, please feel free to submit a 1:1 support request. Once again, this is a random occurrence and will not affect MOST attempts to convert a ticket.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The winged beast Abingdon is flying away soon, and with him goes the Emperor, Duke, and Baron Guardian equipment.

All good things must come to an end, but fear not, for the Seal Breaker Gacha system is timeless and will return in the future with a brand new assortment of powerful goodies to collect.  As of September 9, Seal Breaker Scrolls will no longer be sold in the shop, and Sealed Gems may no longer be found in dungeons.
 
Any existing Sealed Gems and Seal Breaker Scrolls in your inventory may still be used as normal, with full access to the Emperor, Duke, and Baron Guardian sets.  If you complete a full set even after September 9, you will still receive the Abingdon Pet Card and the appropriate number of Royal VIP Badge Exchange Coupons.
 
Keep an eye on the forums and website into the future for announcements of the next Seal Breaker Gacha set, and in the meantime if you're interested in what we have now, this is the time to stock up on gems and the scrolls to break them!

Again, 9/09/2009 Seal Breaker Scrolls and  Sealed Gems will no longer drop in-game! Get 'em while you can!

Greetings, Knights!
 
Since even before the very first tournament we held, back in September of 2008, one question has always loomed high in the minds of player and Game Master alike:
 
Who is the best of the best?
 

We have tried in subsequent tournaments to refine our answer to that question, and after nine tournaments successfully completed, we think we have a good idea of our fighters' capabilities.  Still, although each time we seem to get a little closer, there's always been something missing.

Until now.
 
Working in cooperation with KOG Studios and all other regional releases of Grand Chase, we are extremely proud to present to our community the battleground to end all disputes, the first official Grand Chase World Tournament.
 
While many details have yet to be determined, we are happy to share with you now what we know, beginning with the most important detail of all: the team we're sending to represent our version!  Many factors went into the selection criteria for these players, but all of them are well known in the community, vouched for by our Game Master team, and proven to be battle-hardened by the fires of the recent People's Champ tournament.
 
Cow
 
His reputation precedes him; if you've ever been to the Park, you've seen the lasting proof of his impact on this game's competitive community.  Three championship titles rest on his belt, including victory in the ferocious People's Champ tournament.  Cow is an undisputed champion; we're just lucky he's on our side.

 
SneakySmaker
 
Although he didn't receive the limelight for his victory in The Young and the Wrestless, SneakySmaker has been a formidable foe in tournaments past, as well as in the game at large.  He brawls with the toughest of competitors, and has a reputation for tenacity.  Surging on that wave of success, he dominated early rounds of the People's Champ, forcing a best two out of three showdown with Cow that ended in a narrow 2-1 defeat.  Cow wasn't without his own wounds though, as these fights literally took *hours* of nail-biting combat to settle.
 
BunZ (or is it!?!)
 
Not only a man of many names, but many skins as well.  iHero is a versatile player who never stays locked down to a single task.  He has been recognized by our staff as well as the players as being a 1v1 champion, and has a record to support it.  Having participated in every tournament we've hosted after the first, this battle-seasoned veteran brings experience to the arena.  While he has always been recognized as a top-notch fighter, it was his come-from-behind race in the People's Champ tournament that truly cinched this worthy choice for our team.
 
Now that you've met the team, let's learn about the format they'll be participating in.  This tournament will be held live in South Korea, so nobody's going to be crying about the lag!  There will be two main events in the tournament: the expected 3v3 team tournament against the other five versions of Grand Chase, and an individual 1v1 consisting of all the regional delegates pitted against each other for ultimate Grand Chase supremacy.

 
In order to ensure that everyone is working with an equal playing field, all stats will be equalized on the official tournament server, similar to the effects of the Honor Guard game mode.  As well, certain aspects of the game will be restricted, both for competitive reasons as well as in recognition of each region's different patching schedule.

There will be no Skill Trees, Pets, or the use of Athena's Sword in the tournament.

Maps will be chosen by the tournament staff out of the following list:
Elven Forest
Orc Temple
Forsaken Barrows
Outer Wall of Serdin (*)
* This map canot be chosen for the 1v1 tournament, only the main event 3v3.
 

Finally, only the following jobs/characters will be available:

Elesis: Knight, Spearman, Sword Master, Savior
(**)Lire: Archer, Crossbowman, Arch Ranger, Nova
Arme: Magician, Alchemist, Warlock, Battle Mage
Lass: Thief, Assassin, Dark Assassin
Ryan: Druid, Sentinel
Ronan: Spell Knight, Dragon Knight, Aegis Knight, Abyss Knight
Amy: Dancer
 
** Each team in the 3v3 format may only use 1 Lire.
 
If you happen to see anyone on our team in the game, we encourage you to support them as best you can, as this is the team that will represent our version live in South Korea at the official Grand Chase World tournament.  Skilled though they all are, it's going to take a lot of practice and teamwork to emerge victorious, and we're sure they're up for the challenge.

If you would like to participate, simply fight all your battles during the specified event period in Free Class on Gaikoz, but be sure to leave room for the GMs!  We will be making *random* appearances in your rooms, so feel free to start without us if you're ready to fight. GMs will not join a room asking for a GM to join. ie 'Please come in GM!'

If your room is visited by a GM during the event period, every player in the room will receive 10x HP Potion (L).
